Buddhism doesn't teach about afterlife at all. Some Buddhists - but not all - believe in reincarnation, which says that each time a body dies, the person's soul returns to a new body until the person attains full spiritual understanding.
.
However, Buddhism doesn't teach reincarnation, either.
.
Buddhism does teach that people are to live with awareness, kindness, and generosity, that they should work hard and be thankful. The goal of Buddhism is to help people become more aware -- to wake up to eternal wisdom.
The essential Buddhist teachings are that ignorance leads to attachment and aversion which in turn lead to greater suffering. The Buddha taught that if you increase your ignorance you are likely to experience greater suffering.
Because back in the times, people believed that only the good can go to the afterlife and the bads are trapped into this world forever. And lying is one of the "bad action" which means that the man have sinned and will not be accepted by the gods to the afterlife.
Religion don't make people behavior. People choose their own behavior. Not all Buddhist behave bad. It is a small group. I have a lot of Buddhist friend. They're very good too.
Major religions use the idea of an afterlife as a "fear factor" to encourage people to sign up. For example, the classic "Do good and you go to heaven, do bad and you go to hell". It works perfectly as the afterlife is something which noone can return from. If it were possible to see what happens afterwards, the religious stock would plummet =P
i guessing its bad for population
the Holocaust was an event, you cannot attribute moral values to an event. There were victims and persecutors in this event. You can say that people were bad or their motivations were bad, you can say that the perpetrators of the Holocaust were bad, you could even say that it was a bad thing that the Holocaust had to happen. Sorry to come over all Buddhist, but people are bad, not things.
There isn't one. This is a purely Christian belief.
Yes, good luck happen to good people. bad luck happens to bad people. It's really that simple
They are not bad, just bad to some people, some people who dont like to hear about murder, drugs, sex, and what really happens here in America
They do not believe in/people should have: Heaven or Hell Tattoos Cursing Bad thoughts Anger Crime Jealousy and many other things...
If you say bad words, you might get in trouble. You could also offend someone. What happens when a person says bad words really depends on their age, and the people they are around at the time.
Hades is not 'bad', nor did he ever become 'bad'. He is the ruler of the Underworld, and God of the Dead. Governing the afterlife does not make someone evil.
