it goes mouldy
what happens ifa damp area dries out
Turns into toast! When bread is heated, the warmth causes moisture inside the bread to turn to steam. If the bread is covered with a damp cloth, the steam will warm and soften stale bread, making it more appetizing. Uncovered bread will lose moisture as steam, resulting in dryer bread.
Dark,damp
It's healthy, but the bread will become very dry and hard. To warm bread wrap the bread in a damp (not wet) paper towel and then warm it very briefly (10-20 seconds). Check it and repeat if necessary always keeping the paper damp. This will prevent the bread from hardening.
Moist bread. Dry bread supports no organic processes.
Somewhere that has the damp earthy smell of tunnels and cellars.
Somewhere dark and damp, like a basement.
It melts
Dry bread won't grow mold because mold only occurs in moist, damp places.
