If the car does not work afterwards You'll want to check all fuses and have an auto parts store test the battery. It is likely that you have fried the battery and will need to replace it and if not for fuses this would fry the electrical system, however car's have fuses to avoid this, therefore a fuse is likely blown, check underhood fuses as well as under dash ones.
open the hood disconnect the cables put the new battery where the old one was(look in the book where you are getting the battery to see what size you need) an reattach cables, for my 99 escort i need a ten metric wrench to get the cables off...good luck
Check the Battery and cables and if it's not that it could be the alternator.
Bad battery, starter, cables or switch.
The battery, cables and starter may be bad.
probably have a bad alternator or voltage regulator or bad battery cables
Bad starter Bad battery Bad connection on battery cables. Faulty ignition switch
Clean both battery cables and check the connections on the alternator. If it continues, go to auto zone and have the alternator checked.
take off the timing belt cover and see if your timing belt is not shredded
Seized engine? Loose or corroded battery cables? Weak battery? Bad starter solenoid? Bad starter? Bad neutral or clutch safety switch?
there is a fuselink in the battery lead to the starter that likely blew.
It will fit in there but none of the brackets, cables, mounts or lines will fit. No!
