It is my belief, that sound traveling in waves is absorbed by the medium through which it travels. Since electrons in atoms are always moving, the energy created by the sound source, is absorbed into the fuzz of electrons in atoms which the wave tranfers energy to. In the end... Sound lasts forever, but is lost in the buzz of existence itself; hidden from our perception but somehow leaving a permanent imprint in reality for eternity!!!

How are waves related to sound energy and seismic energy?

the energy in a wave begins to disperse as it gets farther from the point of origin, this is true for any wave including sound and seismic waves

Are ocean waves and sound waves different?

ocean waves have to do with water and sound waves have to do with sound

When sound waves hit a barrier nothing happens?

the sound waves reflect back

Can sound waves originate in a small space and spread out to cover a bigger space?

As of being waves, sound waves does just that. They start from origin and spread out. Sound waves will however quickly fade with distance and time.

Sound waves are what waves?

Sound waves are longitudinal waves, which transfer energy by compressing particles, which then apply pressure on the particles infront of them. The point at which the particles are compressed is known as the compression, whereas the point at which the particles are most spaced out is known as the rarefaction

What happens when transverse electromagnetic waves encounter cavity?

light waves or electromagnetic waves are transverse and sound waves are longitudinal

What happens to the sound waves when it enter into vacuum?

Sound waves cannot propagate in a vacuum. Sound waves travel through matter, and a vacuum is, by definition, the absence of matter.

What happens to sound waves as they move away from the source of the sound?

They get distant and more quieter

What happens to energy in sound waves when a sound in the room fades out?

The vibrations in the air (sound) get absorbed by the walls.

What happens as a waves energy decreases?

The sound gets softer.

What happens to a medium that is carrying sound waves?

the medium will get vibrate.

What happens to seismic waves in the air?

In air, the seismic waves(P-wave) are simply sound waves, and travel with the speed of sound (approx. 335 m/s).
