The density changes.
It changes to gaseous state
When water boils it changes from a liquid state to a gaseous state.
When water has heat and energy it changes energy. The energy that it changes to is called thermal.
Chemically, nothing changes about water when it changes state. The physical state changes when water freezes into ice or evaporates into steam.
The only changes of state in pure boiling water is from liquid to gas.
Changes the temperature of the substance
Kinetic Energy is gained in the foward changes and lost in the reverse changes of state
the water looses energy to become solid (freezing). This happens due to electrons (which transfer and store the energy) going to a lower state where the atoms get closer together. Therefore ice takes up a smaller volume than when it is in a liquid state.
These are changes in physical state, which are physical changes.
It changes to a gas (steam).
It changes its state of motion.
In evaporation, a liquid such as water changes to a gaseous state. In sublimation, a solid such as ice changes driectly to a gas or vapor without going through a liquid state.
