The battery flattens, brake cylinders corrode and seals perish and leak. Any fuel in the tank will be stale after a few years. Automatic transmissions deteriorate because the clutchpacks become dry of oil and then absorb moisture.Engine components also dry out and corrode. The o-rings in the air conditioning will harden and leak when re- started. The tyres eventually perish and crack. These things take months to years, depending on climate. The best thing is to start the car every few weeks, let it get to its operating temperature and preferably take it for a drive- turning the air-cond. on as well. Put an automatic trickle charger on the battery , and renew the brake fluid every year.
