There has not been a King, or Queen of England since 1707 when the crowns of England and Scotland were formally united to form The United Kingdom of Great Britain.

The current monarch, Queen Elizabeth II is Queen of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the heir apparent is her eldest son, The Prince Charles.
