∙ 8y agoIt is normal for a hamster to scratch. Some do it out of habit, while others might need changes made to their home or to be payed more attention to. Try buying a new cage if your hamster is in a small space or taking him/her out for some playtime. Maybe even buy it a new kind of food or some treats. Hope this helps

∙ 14y agoI have a hamster of my own and it throws its bedding out of the cage too but really it doesn't mean to. It is just a way of its natural instincts kicking in. You see, like if you put hamster fluff in its cage it will automatically start cozying up in it because it is nocturnal. and its just trying to get comfy!
