Well, it would depend on:
the species of the plant?
if its a soil plant or aquatic plant?
well for all intent and purpose, we will say its a regular soil plant cell.
No as you must be aware. There are minerals and different types of salts that plants use to grow and mature. But If too much salt, a chemical reaction will occur and kill the leaves of the plant. So back to your question.
So, the cell would notice the difference in salinity in the surrounding water and
through osmosis try to create homeostasis. But if the water saline solution is too much for the plant cell, the cell won't survive.
But if the solution is not in a toxic saline level, the plant will survive for a while.
but you should really read this article.
it explains a bit more.

Try it yourself !
You create a solution of the salt in water.
You get a mixture of salt and sand. Nothing more happens.
Salt draws water from plant cells. This causes the cells to dehydrate and the plant to shrivel up and die.
Your skin gets wet and salty
it is because salty water is made of the dirty water which come from mountains melted water its small salty particles makes all the water salty thats what the reason is about salty water
The cells will lose water through diffusion to the salty medium until the concentrations of sodium in the cell is equal to the concentration in the medium
nothing it just gets saltier
you get salty sand water
Salty water affects how a plant gets nutrients from the water and soil. Salty water causes the roots to die because the water moves outside of the plant cells as a way of balancing the salt concentration. Water stress kills plants and high levels of salt force a plant to use more energy to get needed water.
really salty water
It depends upon the type of the plant. All the plants do not survive in salty water, few of the species of plants do. They are called Halophiles that grow in salty water they are not harmed by the salty water.
It dies.
You create a solution of the salt in water.
it is not salty because in the ocean there are rocks which contain salt and animals such as fish poo and pee in the water and in the lakes none of that happens
You get a mixture of salt and sand. Nothing more happens.
In fresh water it will swell in salty one it will shrink
Salt draws water from plant cells. This causes the cells to dehydrate and the plant to shrivel up and die.
