the engine will run "rich" fouling spark plugs and causing bad fuel economy.
the fuel shortage going and the magnito stops when not enough fuel or to much air goes into the engine.
The engine will overheat and eventually seize. This will pretty much destroy the engine if it is driven long enough.
A car can start with very little fuel at the engine. However, there needs to be enough fuel in the tank to allow the pump to pressurize the lines and keep fuel to the injectors.
The black smoke is caused by too much diesel fuel being supplied to the engine when you first open the throttle. Quite often this happens when the fuel injectors are worn and /or the turbo is not coming up to speed quick enough.
The most that will happen if you put mixed gas in a regular fuel engine is (depends on how much mix is but ) it will smoke out the exhaust and fowl the spark plug or may not run at all.
I believe this usually this happens if the fuel / air mixture is not rich enough (too much air / too little fuel) which causes the cylinder heads to get too hot which means that any unburnt fuel in the cylinders will continue to ignite even after the ignition has been cut.
Black smoke from diesel engines on starting and/or running tends to mean there is fuel leaking into the engine, or the fuel mix is incorrect and not atomised correctly. The main causes are normally a nakered air filter that isn't letting enough clean air into the engine to mix with the diesel, a blocked fuel filter, which is either not letting enough fuel in, or in some cases, a faulty fuel filter which is letting too much diesel into the engine, and causing black smoke due to excess burning. The last cause could be the engine's fuel injector which should normally create a fine mist spray of diesel to be burnt. if its faulty it could either not be spraying enough fuel into the chamber, or too much.
Not enough information. Is it turbocharged? Is it a piston engine? What type of fuel does it use? If you know its rate of fuel use and its efficiency you can find the power produced.
Dry is good, but white is bad! It means that the engine is running lean, which will result in the engine running too hot and can cause serious engine damage (even seizure). Below is a guide to reading the spark plug color. Black = Rich. The fuel/air mixture is too rich (too much fuel, not enough air). Tan/Brown = Normal. The fuel/air mixture is correct. White = Lean. The fuel/air mixture is too lean (too much air, not enough fuel).
Essentially this means the engine is running with too much air and not enough fuel. This typically turns out to be an air leak.
It will ruin the engine. Ethanol is a much harsher fuel than gasoline and also requires a higher compression ratio to burn efficiently.
I suppose it could be a couple of things. But my guess is your fuel to air ratio. Either too much air and not enough fuel which is too lean. Or too much fuel and not enough air in which case your mixture is too rich. Either way, the fuel/air mixture in the cylinders is not burning correctly and thus the engine is not creating enough power. Needless to say I would check your carburetur or your fuel injection system. Something could be clogged, or if you have modified any parts of the intake or exhaust you may need to retune your carburetor.
