The engine , if it runs at all , will , of course , have misfires and may have a 'backfire' .
If you do get the plug wires in the right firing order, the car will sound like it is missing realy bad. This is caused by not having the corect order of fire. Check with your local parts dealer for the right firing order.
3100 V6 -- The firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6. I know it seems wrong but that's what it is if you have a 3100 V6.4 Cylinder -- The firing order is 1-3-4-2.

What size engine do you have? The 3.8 and 5.0 do have diagrams for wiring the firing order from the distributor. The 4.6 is distributorless. It is possible that your distributor is on wrong or that your wiring is incorrect if you have the 3.8 or 5.0?
