(Oil floats) mostly mixes with the water forming emulsion which clogs the radiator.
When your coolant looks brown in color this means that you have got oil in your cooling system. This is not good, you could have a cracked head gasket or a crack in the block somewhere that is letting oil escape into the cooling system. The foam at the top of the radiator happens when the oil mixes with the coolant and then runs through the water pump. Hope this helps.
The oil could be getting into you coolant system. Check to see if your radiator fluid is milky brown. It could be a leak that only happens when your jeep is in motion.
Suspect blowed head gasket or not so smart person putting oil in instead of antifreeze
Not much actually.
Really need to know the year and engine size. But you can check this, Does your engine have 2 lines just above the oil filter that run up the side of the engine and goes into the radiator on the drivers side ? If so then that is the engine oil cooler lines and the tubes in the radiator were the oil flows through to cool the oil are probley leaking into the radiator coolant. IT happens often. WILL NEED TO REPLACE RADIATOR. And flush out the cooling system real GOOD. Did your engine freeze from lack of antifreeze ? If the radiator fluid is cheery red looking then the transmission cooler that is built into the radiator is leaking. REPLACE RADIATOR. GOOD LUCK.
your radiator needs to be replaced
Circulating water will not be sufficient and the car will overheat.
If it is red or brown it is the transmission cooler (in the radiator) leaking. If it is milky white, internal engine oil leaking in to the cooling system, head gaskets.
Okay 2 types of oil cooling system fitted to these trucks. Light duty , and heavy duty. light duty, Oil cooler lines go from the oil filter housing to the radiator. oil cooler is built into the radiator. Heavy duty, Oil cooler lines go from the oil filter housing under the radiator and in front of the radiator there is a mini oil cooler.
All the parts making up a cooling system for the oil in an engine. Small radiator in the front, a hose or line to and from that radiator to a plate or box at which the oil filter will be attached. Not many cars have them.
Sometomes it is hard to get all of the oil out of the cooling system. However the place that replaced the engine should flush the cooling system until it is clean. Also if your car has an engine oil cooler , it could be the cooler in the radiator and not have been the engine in the first place.
The engine of your car will heat up.
