First, check to see that you have a BB gun, and not a pellet gun. Both pellets and BBs are made in .177 cal. A pellet gun will not shoot BBs (in most cases) If your gun IS a BB gun, you will need a gunsmith to check it for damage, stuck items in the barrel, etc.
The Crosman Phantom is designed to shoot ONLY .177 pellets NOT BB's, they will ruin the rifling in the barrel.
They are both the same size. .177

The Crosman 760 doesn't shoot Bullets it shoots BB's or .177 caliber Pellets.
The Crosman model 761XL is designed to shoot BB's or any .177 Caliber pellet. These are the most common pellets you can find. Make sure you select .177 Caliber pellets.
