Which resistor?

If you mean the blower motor resistor (a common issue), a faulty one will usually leave you with only one blower speed (usually high) or no blower speeds at all. When you inspect the blower motor resistor, which should have a 5 or 6 - wire harness connected to it and should be mounted on the engine side of the firewall on the passenger side near the top, you will often, but not always, find that the wires or resistor are showing signs of excessive heat damage such as scorching or melting.
