It doesn't end up good, it just makes a larger sin. Take the story of David and Bathsheba for example. Here are the events that take place in the story

1. It is his duty to go to war with his men but he stays behind.

2. He goes to his balcony one evening most likely knowing Bathsheba was on her porch balcony thing, than he sees Bathsheba taking a bath on her porch balcony thing, and he sends guards to find out more about her. (Even though he probably already thinks she's married, but maybe he doesn't)

3. He finds out for sure she's married and is married to who else but his faithful warrior Uriah the Hittite and tells the guards to take her to him.

4. He asks her to spend the night and gets her pregnant.

5. After Bathsheba finds out that she is pregnant she sends guards to tell the great news to David.

6. After he finds out that she is pregnant he pulls Uriah out of the war and has him come home.

7. He tries to get him to sleep with his wife to make it seem like Uriah was the father.

8. After the first night when Uriah slept on the stairs of the palace, David asks why didn't you go home and sleep with you're wife? Uriah says the rest of the army is sleeping in tents not knowing if the enemy will try and attack during the night, how can I go home and sip champagne acting as if nothings happening?

9. The next night David invites Uriah to dinner and gets him drunk, still trying to cover up the sin he had committed. But Uriah still did not go home to sleep with his wife.

10. After this David sent him to the front of the battlefield where the soldiers started to attack but than retreated all as a plot to murder Uriah the Hittite.

11. Uriah the Hittite died. :'( However it was not a time of great sorrow like it should have been.

12. After this the baby Bathsheba bore died at birth for punishment of what David had done.
