Don't laugh, but this has been tried. In (IIRC) 1994, there was a case going through the court system in Cumberland County, NC. The defendant (I'm working on memory here, but this person did something real bad--not murder, probably crack dealing) was attempting to get his case thrown out on the grounds the pepper foam they used while arresting him was too dangerous to be used on humans. The sheriff issued a can of it to one of his deputies and asked him to cook with it, then report to the court the results of his tests. The deputy reported that he made two meals with pepper foam--scrambled eggs for breakfast and a steak dinner. The meals so prepared were tasty and satisfying. What happens when you eat pepper spray? You end up with less pepper spray than you had before.
