in most states you will receive a misdemeanor and get your vehicle towed away.
if you get caught in NJ you will be arrested car towed and you face heavy fines and licence suspensions and possibal jail time

∙ 13y agoIn most states, if you are caught driving on a suspended license, you will be arrested. You will then need to appear in court and answer the charges. If you plead or are found guilty, you potentially face a fine, additional jail time, and an additional license suspension.

Sometimes the arresting officer will let the suspended driver call someone else (eg the owner) to come pick up the vehicle instead of having it towed.

It is possible with some states, but not with every state. If you have a CDL (Commercial Drivers License) which gets suspended in one state, there is no state or territory of the US in which you'll be able to get licensed in while your license is suspended. Also note that the state which suspends your license also suspends your driving privileges in that state, so, if you did obtain a license from out of state, and were pulled over in the state where your license was suspended, it would still be treated as if you were driving on a suspended license.

A state can request for your state to suspend your license. Your state may or may not comply. If your state does not comply, the other state can still revoke your driving privilege in that state, and, if you're pulled over in that state, it is treated the same as driving on a suspended license.
