There are several things that could result in being stopped and not having a valid proof of insurance. I will provide a list of things that could happen if this happened in the State of Texas: * You could receive a "Verbal Warning" from the police officer and be sent on the way; * You could receive a written citation that would require you to appear in court to answer for this violation in front of a judge; * Your vehicle could be impounded and held until you can show a valid proof of insurance; or * You could be arrested, booked into jail, and have your vehicle impounded. You may be thinking to yourself, "I can't get arrested for not having insurance!" but I assure you that you can. In the State of Texas, a person can be arrested for any offense except speeding and possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle. Even in those two situations, the person can be arrested if they refuse to sign the citation.
They give you a ticket and you have to prove that you have insurance or have gotten insurance, but by the time your caught, your dl is usually suspended by then. if you have a tag you have to have insurance on it. if you take off insurance it gets sent to the state and it gets suspended. if you get the notice in time you can fix it, but everytime you have this happen the reinstatement fee goes up more each time.
You will likely get a traffic ticket, with a hefty fine.
You go to prison >:)
If you get caught driving without insurance, you will lose your license. You will also be fined and could get jail time. It is up to the judge in traffic court.
If caught driving without proof of insurance and convicted is this considered a misdemeanor?
You will get a ticket and run the risk of losing your license if you cannot provide proof of insurance on your court date.
You get a ticket.
nothing, unless you get caught :-)
In most cases, a car will not get towed just for driving without insurance. The officer will usually ticket the driver instead.
You can't drive without insurance. You can get your license suspended if caught.
In Texas if you a caught driving without insurance you will be ticketed. I believe this is true in most states.
Not usually but your car may be towed and forfeit.
Only if you get caught driving without insurance can that happen in most states. I wish it would happen in all.
You will be penalized by the law enforcing police authority by your being caught without insurance of your car while driving on public road. Your car can be confiscated if you fail to pay the spot the find and summoned to the nearest police station for initiating case against you.
you will either get a ticket ,or be let off with a warning
