What happens when you give birth?

I was never medicated during my last two deliveries. Labor began with menstrual like cramping with tightening of my belly. As time goes on, the cramping worsens and gets closer together. Them come the urge to push. This urge feels like you have to have a major bowel movement. You can not control the urge except with shallow breathing. When they allow you to push it will be relieving. After that it is all a blur to me. I had some pain but it seemed so exciting that I don't remember too much. Every labor and delivery is different. Go in knowing you will feel pain but it is temporary and you will have a beautiful baby when it is all done. Good luck!

you go to the doctor, the put your legs instirrup's, remove your underwear, open the vagina with a sputum, and look inside to see what is going on in your uterus. then he puts an ivy in, draws blood, and puts a drape over you lower private regions he checks you vagina with a special ruler every 20 minutes to check how dilated you are, once you are 5 cm. dilated he gives you and epidural or a shot in your spine. then once you are 10cm. dilated he removes the drape and tells you to push and breathe a special rhythmic way. than he puts a vacuum into your vagina to help pull out the baby ( if you are having troubles ). then he puts a catheter into your urethra so you don't have to get up you stay there for 1- 5 weeks. with every day pelvic exams.they do look at you vaginal area, and breasts often, but don't be embarrassed, it happens allot, i wasn't embarrassed.sincerely,Chenille Cajolery's
