Warrants do not have SOL's and therefore regardless of how long you have avoided this, your arrest warrant is - and will remain - valid until such time that you are arrested or contact the county of issuance and resolve this matter. An Attorney is greatly recommended before doing so.

Added: Do not lose sight of the fact that you are a convicted criminal - your sentence was to serve a certain period of probation and you never served your sentence. Therefore you have not yet served the sentenvce for you crime.... just like if you escaped jail.

If you are on probation and get charged with a misdemeanor will you violate probation when you get charged or when you get convicted?

The court can file a violation of probation and revoke your probation, then issue a warrant for your arrest. Most states will extradite you for a misdemeanor anywhere within that state, but maybe not in another state. Then again, they might extradite you from another state.

Can probation be violated in SC by going to jail on a warrant from before your probation period?

It's impossible to tell what is in the mind of a sentencing judge, but it is entirely possible that you could be remanded to jail. It's very possible that IF the court had known you were wanted on an outstanding warrant at the time you were sentenced to probation, that you may have never even been offered such a lenient sentence to begin with.

Can you get off a misdemeanor arrest warrant by just going to court?

If it is a bench warrant you could turn yourself in at court and get brought immediately before the judge that issued it. If it is a true misdemeanor offense warrant you would need to turn yourself into law enforcement. You are required to go through the standard arrest and booking procedures. You may get "good" points for turning yourself in but you will still have to face the offense you are charged with.

What happens in Tennessee if you violate probation?

The offender will be returned to close custody. In most states, this means return to prison where the offender will be reviewed by a parole violation board or committee, where it will be determined whether the offender will serve more of his sentence or be returned to supervised release.

If you failed to appear in court when does it become a warrant?

They issue that warrant the same day, assuming it's a criminal violation. If it was a misdemeanor traffic violation they will simply default your judgement. Go to court asap or you're going to end up in jail at the worst time.

You were issued 18 months probation in Florida but only completed 2 months what happens if this occured 3 years ago And the probation was up last year?

You were found GUILTY and sentenced to a probation in lieu of going to jail. Probation IS a sentence. It makes no difference when the probation period WOULD have ended - you only served 2 months of an 18 month sentence before you skipped. You still have 16 months of your sentence left to finish! Whether you know it or not you are probably wanted on a warrant. My advice would be to contact the authorities ASAP, because, sooner or later, it's going to catch up with you, and just like "Murphy's Law," probably when you least suspect it and at the worst possible time.

Im on probation and just got out of a mental hospital for bipolar and have a white warrant issued What is going to happen?

You will get arrested for breach of probation. Answer: A "white warrant" means a warrant issued for a parole/probation revocation. If there was some oustanding reason you couldn't maintain contact with your probation/parole officer during your stay in the facility, there will be a hearing to determine if you could have "reasonably" could or couldn't have done so, and a judge will determine if it was acceptable. Of course, you will be arrested, and depending on the state, you may automaticaly have to serve a pre-determined time in jail before the hearing with out bail. Best thing for you to do is contact your attorney that handled the case for you to determine what to do next.

What happens if i pay my fines for probation but don't report?

what happens if you violate probation in Palm Beach County ?

There is no way to know what is going to be in the mind of a judge when the violator appears before him for violating the judge's probation rules. You could be remanded to jail to serve the remainder of your sentence behind bars.

Does there have to be a search warrant for a probation search?

If the probation officer is conducting the search then he must be there for it. Every state has its own procedures for conducting searches on their probation clients. Police generally cannot assist probation officers with their search, but probation officers can assist police with theirs. But police must still have a search warrant, while probation officers don't-- IF such search is allowed as part of the subject's condition of the probation. In practice, however, probation officers don't help police with their search because they can easily and unknowingly contaminate the evidence or crime scene. Probation officers' searches generally have a different purpose than police searches. If you're asking if the subject's probation officer must be there to conduct a search, then generally yes, they cannot substitute another probation officer for the subject's assigned PO.

What is punishment for possession of marijuana in British Columbia?

Its usually just a fine if considered a misdemeanor but if caught with large amounts then it could be considered a felony but if it is grown in the comfort of you own home then police have to get a search warrant but chances are there not going to do that.
