Best Answer

you can get Diabetes or pancreatitis

Alternate Answer:

The pancreas produces digestive enzymes, but it also has Islets of Langerhans that sense the sugar level in the blood coming into the pancrease and produce insulin and the insulin gets into the blood before it goes to the liver.

An overactive pancrease would produce more enzymes, but in the Islets of Langerhans, it could also produce too much insulin. Too much insulin in the blood could produce Hypoglycemia or low blood sugar. This is sometimes called pre-diabetes. If the Islets were stimulated too much for too long a time, they might stop working so well and that would produce high blood sugar, Hyperglycemia or Diabetes.

You could have your doctor check this in your case by requesting a 4 hour glucose tolerance test. I get my glucose test strips at Walmart and their meters are only $10 so I would get a few strips and test your own sugar to see if your Islets of Langerhans, 'pancreas' is doing what you think it should.

Yes. I was diagnosed with an overactive pancreas after several miscarriages. I was put on Actos to help with the over production and help sustain pregnancy.

Understanding Overactive Bladder?

An overactive bladder can be caused by fluctuations in hormonal levels, bladder prolapse and menopause. In addition, an overactive bladder can cause people to leak urine when they sneeze, laugh, cough or run. Wearing incontinence pads can help absorb leaks, however, they can be bulky and uncomfortable. A bladder prolapse, which is also known as a cystocele happens when the bladder falls or prolapses into the vaginal area, causing overactive bladder, incontinence and sometimes predisposing the person to urinary tract infections.
