Pull it out, it hurts like crazy, but pull it out.
Wash the wound, then keep your foot elevated, and stay off of it for a few hours. Definately go to a walkin clinic or doctors office for an updated Tetanus shot sooner than later as well.

∙ 14y agoIf it goes in not much, then you will have a very weak and sore foot. Make sure you treat it with antibiotics.
If it goes an inch or more in, seek medical help. If you step on an nail and you don't have polio or tetanus shots, GO TO THE HOSPITAL AND GET THEM. Tetanus and polio are very painful and sometimes can cause death. It is caused by a virus that is found in rust. If it was a rusty nail, do yourself a favor and check in with the hospital strictly following.
