Between Saran Wrap and foil, I would choose foil. But the best thing to use are freezer bags.
You would need tin foil ,3 volt battery and a bulb.First you wrap the tin foil around the battery and then attach the bulb your switch will be the opposite side where you place the bulb,if you press i will turn on and if you leave it will turn off.I hope that's helpful.

You can wrap the pan with foil, but I would get the foil as tight as possible by crimping it around the sides as much as possible. If it is leaking severely I would suggest getting a new pan.

You could just wrap the pot in pretty foil paper and tie a bow around it, leaving the plant itself unwrapped.
