A quick way in an emergancy to rehydrate a gerbil is to make a mixture of 50 percent water and 50 percent karo syrup then use an eye dropper and drip it on the gerbil's lips, but keep it away from the nose otherwise you could seriously injure the gerbil's lungs and cause a respritory infection. The gerbil should lap it up a little.
