One of the main concerns of dumping untreated sewage is bacteria levels. Sewage is teaming with bacteria far above a safe level. When this is poured into a river it can create many problems. Some of the most prominent are that it makes the water dangerous swim in and it makes the water undrinkable. Also, it can kill the plants and animals living in the river and make the remain life sick and dangerous to eat because of the bacteria and parasites that once lived in the sewage and now live in the fish.

Untreated sewage is waate product from factorries, nuclear facillities and untreated human waste. This waste is highly dangerous as it contains bacteria, virus, etc... This waste if mixed with river water or water system can cause large damage not just to human but aquatic life aswell. Treated sewage is sewage which is filtered and treated with chlorines and other chemical, after the process the water is ready to be mixed with river, etc. This water is even ready to drink.
