Speaking as an Engineer, Radiation is a high energy source that fries, disrupts
and majorly injures cells in the body. The body comprises cells of different types working together as whole.
The resulting effect of radiation on cells is to permanently injure each one, so that each one is far less able to communicate to the other cells in the body, or to function properly. This leads to illness, disease and cancer as the body needs to operate as one to stay well (quoting Hipprocates, the father of real medicine).
Its like having each neighbor in a community burned in a fire and then asking that community to set up a neighborhood watch scheme - they have too much on their
mind in surviving, to work together as a whole. Then major social problems can arise in that community, as a result.
With regards populations, the effect of Radiation is to create hysteria in that population, as people cannot see the radiation and are always in fear of it because they know it reduces their lifespan, dramatically. It is this fear & resulting hysteria that is considered highly desirable by supporters of radiation in warfare.
Gamma radiation is not easily absorbed by the human body(not as easily as alpha and beta anyway). So it can penetrate to the internal organs and harm them.
It is controversial whether or not blue tooth technology causes harm to the human body. Blue tooth technology emits radiation that some say is too small of an amount to make a difference, while others say that any amount of radiation has the potential to cause harm in humans.
That depends what radiation - there are several types. For example, visible light, in the usual quantities, does no harm at all. A very intense light, or other types of radiation, can be very harmful indeed. That depends what radiation - there are several types. Alpha radiation particles can only harm you if ingested into the body by way of inhalation or body fluid contact. Full body clothing and particle masks can protect you, and it can be washed off the skin if it gets on you (the primary purpose for decontamination showers).
Ultraviolet, X-rays, and Gamma rays for sure, but even infrared radiation, at very high intensities, could cause harm (burning) to living human tissue.

Brain
Yes infection and disease in the body can have an affect on the rest of the body including the brain and heart.
All cell phones emit some amount of electromagnetic radiation. Given the close proximity of the phone to the head, it is possible for the radiation to cause some sort of harm to the inner ear and brain.
Huffing gas can cause the body organs to malfunction. Huffing gas does not only harm the respiratory system, but can harm the heart and brain.
microwaves cook your brain if you get close to them because they cause bad damage, you should not stand near them while running
Radiation will always harm people no matter where they are, as it causes cancer.

Years of drug abuse can harm both your body and brain. Dependency is most common among street drugs and sometimes a person can suffer side effects that may leave severe damage to the brain resulting in coma.
Not al radiation is harmful. There would be no life on earth if the radiation, which we call sunlight, did not exist.
There is no "radiation antidote". There are several drugs that can reduce the harm from radiation, but no one antidote.
