The US, or United States, does not have a defense minister. The US government appoints directors or Czars to be incharge of departments. A country that does, however, appoint ministers of defence would be a country like England.

Arpanet stands for Advance Research Project AgencyNETwork. It was funded by the US Advance Research Project Agency (ARPA). Arpanet was launched in 1969 in four sites including two University of California campuses, the Stanford Research Institute, and the University of Utah.
The original version of the internet was used by the US defence service and was called the ARPAnet and then became the DARPAnet. By the time it was used for the World Wide Web and other applications, it had become more widespread and was just called the Internet. SD.
