I'm not quite sure about the 3006, but I know that the longest recorded kill shot with a .308 was at about one and a half miles, possibly more.
it all depends on your style of rifle more than anything. If you want stopping power the edge goes to the 308 but only slightly. a 270 will shoot more accurately at a longer range though.( by that i mean over 600 yards!) for me i think the 270 is better
NEVER FIRE AMMUNITION IN A WEAPON NOT CHAMBERED FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Danger, Danger, Danger,#@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Yes 3006, 270 is a long action 308, 243 is a short action.
Either can depending on the load
it might be for the Krag rifle, cal. 30/40..... not 30/06
Both calibers have alot power but the 7mm is more powerful due to the fact that the bullets of the 7mm are in a higher grain than the .308. The 7mm also has a much higher recoil than the 308 and even the 30-06, both calibers have a high standard of performance but its no question the 7mm remington is more powerful
308 is more than 8 times the size of 37.
Yes, a .308 Winchester round is generally considered more powerful than a .223 Remington round. The .308 Winchester has a larger bullet, more powder behind it, and generally produces higher muzzle energy than a .223 round. However, the suitability of each round depends on the intended use and personal preference.
It's basically .308 in diameter, however that does not mean it is the same as what is called .308. .308 is 7.62x51mm and is much more powerful.
308 pages
no ,7.62 has more impact in the shot you can shoot a .308 in a 7.62 ,but not 7.62 in a .308
