Not necessarily. It would depend on the size of the shooter, overall. The Ruger .22, or 10/22, that you refer to, is by far, one of the best .22's you can buy. The mods for this gun are endless, and it's extremely reliable. The only other .22 that would come close to the quality of the Ruger would be the Henry. Having said that, mods are pretty much non-existent for the Henry. If you have the money, in my opinion, I would go with the Ruger. Hope this helps.
