Usually light would traverse only in straight line. So we cannot expect the light to bend. So we cannot send light through a wound pipe. But if we have total internal reflection phenomenon to take place within the wound pipe then definitely light would easily travel in the spiral path. This technique is used in optical fibre communication cables. Hence in case of key hole surgery, we can send light in all curved path and light the inner parts and inturn we can photo graph with a tiny camera and seen on a monitor as a video movie.
