You may refer to question below if you mean the question the five pillars of Islam. however, if you mean the five pillars of wisdom, then it could be said, from my own point of view, that they are:

  1. worship of Allah (God in English) as the one and only one God with no partner, no son, no father, no companion, and no associate.
  2. following the guidance of Quran; Muslims holy book; and the teachings of prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
  3. Doing good deeds in this life for the benefit of humanity and environment
  4. being tolerant, forgiving, peaceful, and calling people for the good and forbidding them from the wrong.
  5. maintaining good morals.

Answer: What I have gotten from the "five pillars": 1) The testimony that "There is no one worthy of worship and obedience except the One God and Muhammad is His Last Messenger (Shahaadah). What I got was freedom. I knew where I came from, what I came to do, and where I am going. In short, I knew my Lord was the One and Only God - by whatever name you may call Him. The One, The Merciful, The King. Elohim, God, Allah. And I finally believed in and understood the true messages of the Prophets before Muhammad (peace be upon them all). Saying that "Muhammad is the Last Messenger" means that we believe in all the Prophets before him, as well. I finally believed in both Moses and Jesus, as a Muslim. 2) The five daily prayers (Salaah). Prayer is keeping in touch with God. Without it, God is no different. Yet, without prayer, we become very different. Keeping in touch with the Lord is like breathing. If you stop, you will die. God has commanded our final nation (the Islamic Nation) to pray at five times in a day. The prayer is physical, mental and spiritual at the same time. Physically, a person bows truly to God. Mentally a person ponders the meanings of the words recited from the Qur'an. Spiritually, the person praying is astounded and uplifted by the immense beauty of the recited Qur'an. It is a most beautiful way to keep God in your life - and on your mind. The more you remember God, the more He remembers to bless you. 3) Paying the Purifying Poor-Due (Zakah). Every year, at a person'e choosing, a Muslim takes two and a half percent of extra wealth. Money and certain possessions which have been counted as 'extra' because it was sitting out of circulation for one whole year. Two and a half percent of that ammount is given - to the needy. The benefit : it 'purifies' the wealth that you have - and it causes the wealth you have to go a longer way. Your wealth has blessings in it, and you are rewarded for doing good to the needy. 4) Fasting in Ramadaan (Siyyaam). How can I as a Muslim explain Ramadaan? It is the best month of the year. Satan is locked up - and the devils - for the one who fasts - from dawn to sunset. Without food in the system, the bodily urges are diminished. As the thirty days go by, the person is more able to focus on spiritual matters. At night, extra prayers. At sunset, a special meal with everyone. If a believer fasts the month of Ramadaan, hoping it to be accepted by God and to be given good for his fasting, then all of his prior sins will be wiped out - by proper fasting. 5) The Pilgrimmage (Hajj). In rememberance of Abraham, Muslims have gone to Mecca for over one thousand, four hundred years. Even before that - Abraham called the people to visit the House in Mecca. You go and stand with over two million Muslims - for five days. You see a vision of the Day of Judgment. Everyone there - in white. Asking God for forgiveness. It is one of the most sweeping experiences I have ever had.

The fifth pillar of Islam is performing Hajj. It is, in a way, the combination of many kinds of worship. It involves money, energy, travel, jihad, unity among the different races of the Muslims. It also involves sacrifice in the name of Almighty Allah. It teaches universal human brotherhood. It also teaches obedience to the Commands of Almighty Allah.
