Melatonin. That's a hormone. Some people by the way don't make enough melatonin to fall asleep (or they will stay awake a very long time before falling asleep, and the next morning, they are tired because of not having slept enough). But you can get some kinda drug, containing melatonin. (Yeah, I've personal experience with that)

There are many relaxing techniques used to help make you go to sleep quicker, including: avoid lively acivites such as action movies, athletic events, and exciting things that increase your heart rate. turn off the tv and computer screens and anything disctracting that might keep you occupied. small portions of items like bread, cereals, bananas, milk, and peanuts, are all good choices to eat for a late night snack, and do not eat 2-3 hours before you go to bed. there are also natural things that can help you sleep like lavender and i know store like bath and body works has a simply roll on tube of lavender made for situations like this and all you do is roll it on your wrists before you go to bed and the scent relaxes you and helps you fall asleep. Even lavender lotion or even a small amount of lavender placed inside your pillow case would be probably more economical solutions. what has really helped me over the years is to turn my alarm clock completely away and out of reach so then while im trying to sleep I will not dwell over watching the clock.
