some axles are held in place by c clips which are located in the spider gears in the center off the differential some are held in by the outer wheel bearing retainer plate located on the rear brake backing plate on the wheel end of the axle and most h/d trucks have a set of bolts that are visible on the center of the rear wheels or rear hub 75% of rwd cars have the c clip type
How does the clip for rear end axles come out?
There is a small C-Clip on the end of the Axle Shaft (inside of the differential) that holds the axle in place. This clip may have been busted or fell off the end of the axle shaft.
jack up rear of car and place axle stands under rear chassis rails then lower car onto axle stands, place jack under rear axle and jack up to take up slack on rear axle and shock absorbers, undo top two bolts and lower axle down then undo single bolt at axle end. bolt new shocker into place at axle then jack up axle till top two bolt holes are lined up then install bolts at top end. remove jack and repeat on other side.
The rear axle has avent hose on the left side. The hose goes on the stud that holds the brake line block the the axle tube.
it is placed above the rear axle. that's the only place. specifically between the two rear wheels.
Only if the rear axle is a drive axle.
The 9.25 axle holds about 2.5 quarts. If you have limited slip you will need 4 ounces of additive.
