The Crusades were a series of holy wars fought between Christians and Muslims for control of Jerusalem and the Holy Land during the Middle Ages. The First Crusade was launched in 1096 and resulted in the capture of Jerusalem by Christian forces in 1099. Subsequent Crusades followed over the span of two centuries.
The Crusades were fought over the control of Jerusalem, which was considered a holy site for Christians, Muslims, and Jews. The city changed hands multiple times between Christian and Muslim forces during the Crusades.
The Crusades were a series of religious wars fought between Christians and Muslims over control of holy lands in the Middle East. Both sides believed they had a divine right to these lands, leading to conflicts fueled by religious fervor, political ambition, and territorial expansion. Muslims and Christians
Spain was historically a christian country when Muslims fought it and invaded it, it was ruled by Muslims but as the time passes the empire grew weaker and weaker and Christians fought to regain the country.
The Crusades were fought between Christians and Muslims. They fought in the Middle Ages, and actually fought violently. Both sides wanted to take control of Jerusalem.
The Jews. Here is the problem. Christians, Muslims and Jews have fought for control of that city for centuries. The Christians and Muslims actually do not have as bad a history as both against the Jews. The Jews have control of Jerusalem, but the reason is because they need their own country and are not really accepted anyplace else in the world. Not being sympathetic, just stating the facts.
Christians and Muslims !
In the first crusade they fought over and through Jerusalem. After capturing it from the Muslims, the crusaders established some counties and other minor areas.
There were many wars, sometimes about land disputes or something, but the main wars were the Crusades. The Christians wanted control of the Holy City of Jerusalem, but the Muslims controlled it. Both sides wanted it for religious reasons. The Muslims were fine letting the Christians come to Jerusalem and worship, but the Christians wanted it all to themselves. For over two hundred years the Christians fought with the Muslims over the control of the city.
They fought because the Muslims had control of Jerusalem, the most important city to the Holy Roman Empire. To get Jerusalem back under the control of it, the crusaders started the Crusades, or holy wars.
Jerusalem for the Major Crusades, but that soon expanded to general war against the Muslims themselves. (In other cases, the Christians fought against the throne of the Muslim kingdom itself.)
In the early middle ages Arab Muslims controlled Jerusalem. Many Christians went on pilgrimage to Jerusalem to visit the holy land. The Arab Muslims allowed this until the Turkish Muslims took over. When pilgrims visited the Holy land the Turkish Muslims would beat them, rob them and in some cases murder them. The Christians didn't like this and were told by the pope too go and fight, if Christians fought their sins would be immediately forgiven and if they died the would go straight to heaven and they would also protect their land and people and receive land so the holy war began this was called a crusade. Christians and Muslims fought over the power of Jerusalem and this is how the Christians recieved the name 'The Crusaders'.
Arab Muslims as well as Arab Christians fought together the crusaders as invaders and not as Christians.
Because they all wanted Jerusalem and Jerusalem is the holy land so the Muslims and Christians wanted it. so they fighted for it and CHRISTINAS WON IT.
