I know there's a hormone called melatonin. You can take it as a sleep aid. There are probably other hormones, too, but that's the main one I know of. Serotonin might have something to do with it, too.
Melatonin a hormone found in animals, plants, and microbes. In animals, circulating levels of melatonin vary in a daily cycle, thereby allowing circadian rhythms.
In mammals, melatonin is biosynthesized in four enzymatic steps from the essential dietary amino acid tryptophan, with serotonin produced at the third step. Melatonin is secreted into the blood by the pineal gland in the brain.

Melitonin.
melatonin produced by the pineal gland is the hormone responsible for sleepiness.
Hormone
Secretin is a hormone released by the small intestine. Like insulin, the presence of food in the stomach triggers it to release secretin which in turn triggers the pancreas and liver to release bile and pancreatic juice for food breakdown and absorption.
There are many hormones which stimulate activity in the ovaries. The two main ones are FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone). FSH triggers the growth of an ovum, and LH is involved in causing ovulation (the release of the ovum/egg).
In the most simplistic manner, hormones. Whether it is peptides or steroids they all come from glands in the endocrine system. These hormones control everything from growth, menstrual cycle, water reabsorption and beyond. The prominent endocrine pathway has three levels. First an action potental is sent to the hypothalamus which triggers the release of a releasing hormone into the hypothalamo-pituitary-portal vessel such as GnRH (gonadotropin-releasing hormone). This travels down to the anterior pituitary wich then triggers the synthesis and release of a stimulating hormone such as gonadotropins (FSH and LH). the last level is on the local level, FSH triggers the production of estrogens and/or testosterone in the gonads.
the hormone FSH ( Follice Stimulating Hormone) triggers the menses (period) in a healthy female. During the menses, the uterine lining is being shed.
It acts on inferior pitutory. It triggers secretion of growth hormone.

The name of the hormone is leuteinizing hormone. It is secreted by the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland. It is released in middle of the menstrual cycle, normally.
Luteinising hormone (LH) is made by the pituitary gland and stimulates the mature egg to be released from the ovary, this is called ovulation.
It is important to know how the reproductive system works. The Luteinizing hormone aids in the maturation of a females eggs.
LuteinizingHormone is a hormone that promotes secretion of sex hormones. In females: It triggers ovulation. In males: It triggers leydigcells that produce testosterone.
Progesterone is the primary hormone produced in the corpus luteum. Secondary is estrogen.
