Good ballpark HP ranges by series: 525 thru 575 - 3.5 hp 600 thru 675 - 4.5 hp 700 thru 900 - 6.5 hp 1150 - 8 hp 1350 - 9hp 1450 - 10hp 1550 - 11hp These are just estimates by me, the fact is these engines don't HAVE hp ratings. Here is the Briggs and Stratton page that tells you where to look and how to contact them to find out the gross torque or horsepower for your engine. There is also a video explaining the ratings: briggsandstratton.com/lam/es/support/faqs/engine-horsepower-or-torque-rating

You need to specify the engine model/ series. It could be any where from 160in lbs. to 220 in lbs. or 35 ft lbs.
No, they are made in China to Ariens & Briggs specifications.
The Vanguard series is rated at 6.5 HP. Most small engines these days are no longer rated by HP but, rather torque. Several models of Briggs 205cc engines are rated at either 8 or 9 ft/lbs of torque. I can also add that the "Intek" and "Polar Force" series of the 205cc class are rated at 9 ft/lbs torque and 7.5 HP.

It depends entirely on the make/model/type number of the engine it's equipped with. A common 12.5 hp engine used by older sabres is the 286707 series Briggs & Stratton I/C. It's air cleaner cartridge filter is part number 496894s. Another common 12.5 is the newer 219707 series Powerbuilt by Briggs & Stratton. It's air cleaner is part number 698413.
?? What filter? I gather it is a walk-behind mower. Just change the oil every 25 hours to keep it alive!
