You do receive communion but u jst don't sing the songs of happiness for lent is a season of sorrow
A Hymn is a song of praise to God. The Bible tells us to sing to ourselves and each other, Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, (Ephesians 5.19 and Colossians 3.16)
No it is used only for rejoycing and in lent it is a time to reflect. Your parish priest should tell you this if you ask him. Much like chocolate on easter
If you are religious it is a place where you can go if you are Christian. You sing hyms there and say prayers, and it is important because it is a social religious gathering and people go on Sunday's to respect God. Hope this helps!
Alleluia means praise to God, sung with great joy. Lent is a time for penance and a reminder of our sinfulness and the hope of everlasting life. So we do not say alleluia, but we do sing praise to God. Then on Easter, a time of great joy, we sing alleluia again ( in fact, twice at the closing of Mass)
Yah I was wondering about that and I think there is!
