The VIN, otherwise known as the Vehicle Identification Number, is a 17-digit number used for identification of motor vehicles. For a 1980 Miley Horse trailer, check the trailer tongue. It has metal bars protruding from the body of the trailer. The VIN is installed on it.
Call the motor vehicle department and give them the license plate number. They should be able to cross reference the VIN.
Where is the VIN number on a travel trailer hi lo 1981
Trailers do not have VIN numbers.
If you have the title, the VIN is on there. Or, if you have a tag or insurance the DVM or the Insurance company has it on file.
Contact the DMV to determine who can inspect the trailer and assign a VIN number. Once you have a VIN you can get a title and registration.
i have a 1986 Coleman 'sun valley' popup. the vin is stamped on a plate riveted on the frame under the battery tray on the front of the trailer. the numbers are barely legible due to age and paint.

The identification tag location for trailers depends on the manufacturer. All manufactured trailers are required to have a posted sticker and/or plate that shows the identification and rating of each trailer (usually on the tongue or hitch). Most manufacturers also have numerous spots on the trailer where the identification number is stamped into the frame or other areas to make identifying the trailer possible if the tag is removed or unreadable.
If it is home made the MVD will issue you a vin number if it passes inspection.
A Boat Trailer VIN# is either stamped into the Ibeam at neck of trailer (where tounge meets Ibeam) or is stamped on a Vin# and weight plate riveted onto side of Ibeam.
