When you purchased the vehicle you assumed the responsibilty for making the payments. For most finance companies their terms for default allow more than ample time for you to have made arrangements. If they failed to send you a payment book you should still have known you had payments to pay.
if payment due today can it be repossed today
No, until you have missed a scheduled payment (at the very least), the lender has no right to the property.
Anyone's car can be "repossessed" if they don't make their car payment.....
No they cant only the behind on its payment can be taken.Even if the same bank is used on both cars only the car behind on payment will be taken.
First off it is not your car. The car belongs to the lender until you pay for it. Legally if you miss 1 payment you are delinquent and they can start repossession proceedings on their vehicle.
Technically they can repo your car after 30 days. Depending on the finance company
In Chicago, IL if your car is repossed by the dealer do you still have to pay back the money for the car?
You need to consult with an attorney who can review your situation and explain your options.
yes yOU DIDNT MAKE PAYMENTS LIKE YOU SHOULD HAVE, THEY HAVE EVERY RIGHT, AND IF YOU DONT PAY WHAT YOU OWE INCLUDING OTHER FEES THEY CAN FREEZE YOUR ACCOUNT BUT THAT TAKES SOMETIME...
The most frequent cause of repossession is lack of payment on a note owed to a financing company or bank. The lender can repossess anytime after a payment is missed, but most won't start such proceeding until you've missed two or three payments. Always try to work with the lender before you get too far behind.
I believe that typical rates as of 2010 are in the vicinity of $300 per hour.
That would depend on how much you owe on this car. You need to contact the lender and see what can be worked out. Do not allow this car to be repossed. That would compound and already bad situation.
