You need to explain to your child that this is something babies do. Usually by two, they start wanting to be a "big kid" and don't want to be perceived as a baby. It would help at this point, if you can, to get them a "big kid" (twin-sized) bed. You could also ask what they think "big kids" do and maybe help them out with their impression that they're too old to breastfeed.
Wean them off gradually; start by saying, "You know what, we're going to do that later," and work on getting longer periods of time in between breastfeeding. This is most likely going to be a little painful for you; sorry!
