i had a sonogram yesterday and the sac could be seen but no fetus what does this mean
An internal sonogram can show pregnancy as soon as 4 weeks. There will likely show an amniotic sac which is the first to form during pregnancy. Within a week after that you can see the fetus start to form. The heartbeat will likely show around 8 weeks.
I was told my sac was too small at my 8 weeks sonogram. I stressed for 4 weeks about it. Then at 13 weeks had another sono and the sac measured perfect and so did the baby. Just wanted to share a positive experience with a small sac. Mine measured a week small at 8 weeks.
No, by this stage the fetus should be clearly visible. The yolk sac is visible from 5 weeks.
My first pregnancy was like this all I had was the sac.. no yolk sac or fetus and I miscarried at 7 weeks. The only way to be sure is if there is a heart beat. I am 9 weeks now and have fetus yolk sac and a heart beat. Ask to hear for a heart beat to be sure.
the fetus is in the yolk sac
Bleeding is VERY common during early pregnancy. You have to consider also that the fetus itself is preeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetty tiny at this point and is rather hard to spot. Even at 12 weeks it's kinda tricky. Don't panic. Everything is probably progressing normally.
No, a sac grows to accommodate the fetus and if the fetus us dead it does not grow anymore.
The protective sac around the embryo or fetus is the amniotic sac.
Amniotic sac and fluid has a protective functions for the fetus. This sac separates the fetus from the mothers tissue.
I understand what you are saying when you say messuring, they messure the sac and it calculates what the size is to get the age of the sac/fetus.
sac in which the fetus develops in amniotes
