No, you are not supposed to. People do it allof the time though. YOu do, however, have to tell the person you are dating that you are married until the divorce is final.
If you're married legally in Mauritius, even though you got the divorce abroad, you have to get an execroiture done for the divorce to be legal in Mauritius and you have to provide all the proof that the papers have been served to your spouse. Its almost like doing it over again.
yes. where the divorce is filed is where state laws are enforced. check with an attourney to be sure.
Ginny Barber, there is talk of a divorce though...
A divorce is a court decision. The court has an arcvive and you're entitled to a copy of any file connected to your divorce. Might cost you though... Or you can hire an attourney to get it done for you.
As soon as your divorce is though you can get married to your bf. If you have to wait for your divorce, you should start learning a little German :-)
Yes, just like any other divorce. The father will have visitation rights though whether you are married or not.
He was, I belive, but has since gotten a divorce. I can't find any info on who he married, though. Sorry
No the cayman islands are not part of the united states. You have to get a divorce in the U.S. or Puerto Rico.
she's happily married, for now, even though her husband isn't working anymore
Just like a legal marriage is valid in the US regardless of where it was perfromed, a legal divorce is also valid regardless of where it was granted.
then your not divorced Or you should talk to your spouse about it if you guys really want to divorce or not. If the spouse does not want to accept the divorce papers, that spouse still cares for you. Then you should talk about getting back or settle things and talk to him/her about the divorce papers. If you do not care for your spouse then talk to that spouse gently and maturely about it If you are sure about the divorce but your spouse refuses to sign talk to a lawyer. in almost every state (if not every state) there is a way to get a divorce anyway it usually involves setting up a hearing. then they try to serve him/her the papers for the hearing if he/she does not respond within a certain period of time then the divorce is granted otherwise you might have a legal battle on your hands. However i believe in California it is not required to have your spouse sign the papers (do some research though to be sure) if that is true you might be able to go file for your divorce there however i still recommend talking to a lawyer about possible options where you live since its easier.
