well if there is just a small amount of blood and it isn't a lot that means you havent necessarily started your period, before i started my period i had this same situation as you. I didn't think anything about it at all, but you will soon know if and when you have started, good luck :) x

∙ 8y agoNo, it's not normal for there to be blood in your underwear if using tampons. The whole purpose of tampons is to absorb menstrual flow before it leaves your body and gets on your underwear. Either you need to change more often or you need a higher absorbency for your flow. Tampons do leak easily so many people use pantiliners or pads as back-up to keep blood off their underwear.
