Generally most young guys are shy and perhaps he had a strong moment where he told you he loved you, but when you reminded him he felt embarrassed. Instead of asking him about it try telling him you love him! I think he'd really like to know one way or the other. Stop playing games and give the guy a break!

Maybe they're still thinking or they're too shy to say anything to you after you asked them to date you. i know after a guy asks me out an di turn him down or tell him I'll think about it I'm scared to confront him it's jsut kind of awkward.

Disregard his words and look at his actions. This guy is not invested in anything more than a casual and sexual relationship with you. He was scared off when you asked him where you stood with him--he may have felt you wanted something serious, while he clearly did not. It would have been better for you if he had been honest about wanting to keep things casual, but I'd see this guy as not worth your trouble.
