For you, the trick is to be honest with yourself and decide if you have romantic or sexual feelings toward people of the same sex: if you do, then you might be gay or bisexual. If you do not, then you're probably straight.

If you don't know him you don't know what he is like, so you don't really know if you will like him or not. Best thing to do is work on becoming friends with him to start off with, then from then on see where things go.
