If the jar was not thick enough to resist the exterior pressure, it would implode, just as a pressurized jar in space would explode.

What percent of outer space is empty?

0%. Outer space is filled by Maxwell's Aether with "free space Resistance" z= W/Q =375 Ohms, where W and Q are electromagnetic Charges. Planck's Constant h=QW.

Why there is negative pressure in pleural cavity?

Pleural pressure is negative (lower than alveolar pressure or barometric pressure) because of a "suction effect" caused by lung recoil. As the lungs recoil elastically, the inner and outer pleural membranes tend to be pulled apart but fluid within the pleural cavity keeps the inner and outer pleural membranes close together. This pulling force decreases the pressure between the inner and outer membranes lining the pleural cavity - an effect that can be appreciated by stacking several plastic cups together, submersing the stack in soapy water ensuring that the spaces between the cups fill with water, and then lift the stack of cups out of the water and try to pull the cups apart. A suction effect will occur producing negative pressure in fluid-filled spaces between the cups as you attempt to pull them apart. The fluid-filled space between the cups is like the fluid-filled space in the pleural cavity. That is why pleural pressure is negative.

Why does sound not travel in outer space?

There's no atmospheric pressure to carry the sound waves

How much pressure is on your lungs in outer space?

well lets just say that if went down to the bottom of the ocean you would be crushed but in outer space it would take half the time

Why do you explode in outer space?

Because there is no air and thus no pressure that would hold your atoms together

Of coarse we are, do you think normal sharks can type, by the way, were coming for you!

How is breathing effected in space?

Breathing is not possible in space. Except inside a space suit or other container filled with gas at significant pressure. But then you're not actually breathing "in space".

If you infaleted a balloon and then exposed it to outer space what would happen?

It will pop because the internal pressure will be much greater than the external pressure.
