The check engine light (service engine soon) comes on and stays on when a problem is detected by the self diagnosis system of your vehicle. Generally, the problem is in the emissions or something that is affecting the effectiveness of the emissions, but other causes can trigger the light to come on, too. To determine the cause, the vehicle will need to be taken to a parts store or a shop that has an OBD2 scanner, or for 1995 and earlier models, an OBD1 scanner, While a scanner will not give you the magic answer, it will give you a code that narrows down the problem area.
Sometimes it happens all by itself, sometimes it's a chemical problem and sometimes it happens just because of your habits of thought. Talk to your doctor. It's 'fixable'.
yes it happens all over the world, but mostly in america
The mass air sensor sometimes would cause this problem
Bad wheel bearing? Brake pads worn?
i think i had the same problem in my 97 mercury sable ,,,mine turned out to be a transmission problem. .i would also check fuel filter ,,its located in the lower rear quarter panel
sounds like you have a leaky intake manifold
everybody knows everything.the only problem is sometimes people don't know how to use their knowledge where they needed, which will happens to me at sometimes.
As this is an intermittant problem it is more than likely the brake light switch is sticking at times..
I had the same problem in my 1999 Mercury Cougar, I replaced the flasher located in the blinker assembly. It was very simple to do. Flasher cost about $10
Nothing. The Villager can run any normal ethanol-oxygenated gas up to 15% with no problem.
They need to be emptied. Sometimes they get plugged. If it happens a lot the vet can remove them. They are not really needed. They are scent glands and can be a problem if plugged all the time.
several ford products had a torque converter lock up problem. It would shift in and out at a certain speed. Sometimes changing the transmission fluid will fix it, it did on my crown vic. You might also change the fuel filter. It can't hurt.
