It depends on the exact model to which you are referring. Earlier models had three engine mounts; later models used four. If you are not comfortable or familiar with changing engine mounts, your best bet is to see an authorized mechanic, who can do the work needed.
check your engine mounts..I am not sure where they are but if you can move the engine with a prybar you need new mounts..they arent to expensive
Most likely the gearbox mounts are failing and need replacing. This can cause this problem even when the engine mounts are fine.
Cylinder misfire. Possibly failed or failing engine mounts.
A 1994 Corolla engine may vibrate if the motor mounts need to be replaced. The motor mounts can be purchased at any auto parts store.

how do i change the rear top mount shock rubbers on a 1999 ford fiesta
how many engine mounts are there on a 1991 corolla.
Yes you can but its loads of work and will cost you a bomb. They 1.25 engine that you have is a Zetec engine and the ST is a Duratec. You will need to make new engine mounts and take everything from the ST over to you 1.25 including the ECU. To be honest it be a hell of a lot cheaper buying a ST and be cheaper on the insurince as the ST is standered and it would be classed as a highly modified car on you 1.25
