What if your husband tells you he doesn't love himself?

• Many people may seem confident out in the world and may make a difference with the work they do (even in small ways) but some people feel that they haven't achieved enough; perhaps they have done things they are not proud of or feel their have not learned enough good lessons on this earth and therefore, they have lack of self confidence in themselves and have a passion to make amends, but may not know how to achieve this. Communication is everything in a relationship so it would be a good idea to take a quiet evening together and ask your husband why he feels this way and listen well to him. If he has good points about why he does not love himself then suggest he volunteers at something he is interested in (giving back to the less fortunate always makes one feel better) or, you will have to decide if your husband is depressed and if so have him go for a good physical. Sometimes medications a person is on or a thyroid; adrenal gland problem, etc., can cause a person to feel poorly about themselves. Be sure it is not anything psychically wrong with him first. The older people get (generally starts around the mid 40s on) the more an individual will reflect on their past and feel they have not achieved what they would have liked to achieve and find that a failure in their lives and perhaps they did not tell the people closest to them that he/she loves them.
