Wet Tail
Hamsters can get wet tail which is a bacterial decease caused by stress or an unbalanced diet this decease is more common with the Syrian Hamster.
The symptoms of wet tail are:
- Diarrhoea,
- The hamster will move slow all the time,
- Around the anus becomes sticky and it will look wet,
- The hamster will be very quiet,
- He or she wont eat there food.
If your hamster is showing any signs of these symptoms take it to the vet immediately!
Cold
Hamsters can get colds from draughts so it is really important were you choose to place there cage the signs of a cold is when they sneeze , have a wet nose , breathing heavily and when they are always sitting in a hunched position. If you see these signs in your hamster place there cage somewhere warm and dry and it will soon go away.
It is important that you don't wash your hamster because that can cause colds too and its not a good idea to handle your hamster when you have a cold because they can catch it off of you.
